For now, we’d like to give you a general overview of the product that goes more in-depth compared to the infomercial on TV. If you’d like to jump straight to the recent personal reviews published on our site (and if you are on our Home Page), just scroll past this post.

How Does Gyro Bowl Work?

The Gyro Bowl is an unprecedented As Seen on TV product made in 2010 that, according the makers of the device, is “100% kid proof.” To put it simply, this bowl that is attached to an outer ring (which is also attached to an outer ring) can be filled with anything, and it will never spill. You can put breakfast cereal (dry or with milk) in there, healthy veggies, mid-day snacks, Spaghettios, or even nails, and it still won’t spill, no matter which way you turn the bowl.

Take a look at how it works in the video below.

The bowl can rotate a full 360 degrees without the open end of the Gyro Bowl ever moving from its upright position. You can spin the outermost ring as fast as you want and the Gyro Bowl still won’t turn over, and the contents will remain inside the bowl.

No More Spills

The feature benefit you might gain out of owning this product (according to some Gyro Bowl reviews we’ve received so far) is the most obvious one: the elimination of messy spills. A dishwasher safe bowl that also miraculously protects your home from ever falling victim to a child’s messy food accidents could probably find a home in any busy parent’s kitchen. Your child could walk freely around the house with his or her breakfast cereal while you kick back and listen to some music, carefree knowing there won’t be a mess on your floor to clean up letter.

Durability & Flexibility

The Loopa Gyroscopic Toddler Bowl is ultra-durable, which is perfect for kids. The manufacturer who sells the product claims the bowl is practically indestructible. We don’t recommend you trying to back over the bowl in your driveway or anything, but it is safe to say that your child will not be able to bend or break the product when you aren’t looking.

Now, when we say “flexible,” we don’t mean that the bowl is made out of less-than-sturdy materials. Instead, we are referring to the Babytec Gyro food bowl’s ability to hold pretty much anything while still getting the job done, even non-food items. If you are an every day handyman type of person, and you need a bowl to hold your nails, screws, or tools, you just might find quite a bit of use out of the Loopa No Spill Gyro Food Bowl.

Shipping

The one qualm we hear from our Gyro Bowl reviews and comments is about the company’s shipping & handling process. At the bottom of their site in their terms, you might notice that the company says it may take up to “3 to 4 weeks” to ship your product. This does hold true, so you’ll have to wait a little while (a month at the most) before you receive your products. However, their customer service department has been superb, and helpful on all accounts, and you can always keep in touch with them by phone or e-mail to keep track of your order after you buy the product.

This nifty spill resistant product was created by two “geeky parents,” and in addition to its As Seen on TV video, it has been talked about on numerous Tech websites, like Gizmodo and ThinkGeek, and can be read about in various news publications. The company is currently offering a Buy One Get One Free (w/ shipping & handling) this month.

Again, if you have anything you would like to ask us or add to this website, feel free to use our contact page at the top. We look forward to hearing from everyone about their experiences with the Gyro Bowl as we go along.

A fun little contraption for kids. We bought a gyro bowl for our 1 year old a month ago as a gift, and we just finished ordering another one for a friend and her toddler. We have found it to be easy for our kid to hang on to it while he’s snacking in the car. The lid included with the bowl is a feature that comes in handy more often than you think it will, especially for when you are on the go.

Just be ready to clean the inner and outer bowls. It’s not too much of a hassle, but it’s helpful if you are aware of this before you put anything in the bowl that would potentially be too messy to clean up if it gets in between the two bowls. If things do get really messy, you can always take the bowls apart and clean them separately, then put them back together.
Overall, the gyro bowl is worth the order price in my opinion.

My hubby and I bought the gyro bowl originally for our 14 month old toddler. Once the bowl arrived in the mail, our little girl’s dad probably got more of a kick out of it than she did. When dad finally let her play with it, she loved it. She always seems to have it around her now. We have found it works terrifically for cheerios and other cereals.

We had one incident where the bowl was knocked off of our kitchen table by daddy who was setting another plate down. Sure enough, things spilled. But that’s to be expected. Overall, the gyro bowl is a lovely little product and we’d happily buy another one if needed.

I wanted the gyro bowl because my little one is always finding a way to accidentally spill her meals and snacks all around the house. You name the room and you could probably find the remnants of a stain caused by the spillage from my child’s shenanigans. As far as I can tell, this product does just what the commercials say it can do.

My one reservation is that the bowl really needs to be held properly so that food doesn’t come out. My kid was holding the gyro bowl with her thumb wrapped around the inside bowl which kept the “gyro” part of the product from doing its thing.

I showed her how to hold it the right way without things spilling, or “how daddy would hold his food.” Now, she grips the bowl by the rim and we have seriously cut back on a lot of spills in our house.

I got this gyro bowl as a gift on my first Mother’s Day as a mom from a thoughtful friend. She ordered it and had it shipped directly to my house. The bowl arrived inside its original box which was inside a much larger box. I think the extra space inside that box is what caused there to be a few dents on the inner box. But the bowl itself was in perfect condition.

I love the bowl and I think the concept is great. Liquids seriously should not be used in the bowl if you’re worried about spills. The gyro bowl so far works fantastically for dry foods, but once you put any liquid in there and shake it around, messiness is inevitable. However, just like any other ordinary bowl, you can put liquids in there if you aren’t anticipating you or your toddler tipping or spilling it.

Yes, the bowl is spill resistant, but it isn’t magic. It’s a fun little gizmo that is worth the sticker price. My kid loves it, and I have even played with it a few times already.

Saw the commercial on TV and ordered the gyro bowl online. It works pretty good. I have only noticed that if the kid holds the bowl with their fingers on the inside bowl then it won’t flip over. However, the bowl does everything the commercial said it would do and I’m overall very happy with my purchase.

Review from N. Jones:

We like the gyro bowl. I’m pretty sure nothing is ever going to be 100% without a doubt spill-proof. And while the gyro bowl comes close, no one should it expect it to prevent absolutely every spill. As long as your child carries the bowl around without deliberately forcing the food out of the bowl, you are going to love the product too.

The inventors of the gyro bowl cannot defy gravity, and I never expected them to. But they did come up with a really neat, innovative product that does prevent common spills, and that kids seem to really enjoy.

The one minor hassle involves having to take the bowls apart before you wash them because your child’s food will get wedged in between the inner bowls. Once you do it the first time though it really just becomes second nature to you to pop the pieces apart, and put them all back together when you’re done. Just don’t let your kid watch you do this!

If you play it right you can make your kid think this gyro bowl is another one of their toys. My 18 month old won’t eat her morning cereal out of any other bowl now.

The bowl will probably work best with toddlers. It prevents most, if not all spills and we’ve definitely noticed our house being a lot cleaner ever since we bought one of these.

We plan on buying more gyro bowls in the future. It’s a win-win for us considering how much our baby loves to use the thing. Thanks!

I wasn’t expecting anything magical out of the gyro bowl, but it really did over deliver on my expectations. Face it, you can’t expect ANY contraption this accessible to a toddler to protect against any and all spillage. But it certainly will prevent a handy portion of the spills you would have had to clean up if your child was eating out of a traditional cereal bowl.

I’d imagine you could get away with liquids in the gyro bowl, just don’t let your child wander astray. Liquids are going to find their way out, no matter what type of contraption you build. If you use the gyro bowl for its intended purpose, which is for mostly dry foods, then it will certainly serve you well.

The bowl/toy really is a fun invention, and something kids love. I could not recommend it more!

Guest Review from Sheron Witt

I bought a gyro bowl for my 2 year old to tote around the house. My husband got a little tired of messing with Michael’s spills in the mornings before he had to leave for work, and that eventually started to wear off on me, too. The gyro bowl not only did what they said it would do in the commercial, but I find myself playing with it too sometimes. I guess it’s a pretty neat toy for adults, too (so long as you are as easily amused as I am)!

I would recommend making sure you look at the quantity before you click “buy” if you’re going to buy online. I recommend buying online, but just make sure you don’t accidentally buy 5 of these (unless you want 5). I have a friend who ordered 3 when they meant to only order 1, but she has 2 kids anyway, so she just says that makes it one less dish she has to clean.
